Assalama alaikim Ustaad Abdirahman Abdishakur,

I was genuinely among those who admired and supported your political analysis and the principles guiding your public debate, particularly prior to the election of Hassan Sheikh in 2022, when you were one of the most vocal figures confronting the attempts of the then-incumbent regime.

However, immediately after Hassan assumed the presidency, you became one of the earliest appointees through presidential decrees issued by Villa Somalia. You were swiftly assigned to a position whose importance and legal foundation I have yet to fully understand. Since then, we haven't noticed any achievements commensurate with your stature and capacity, other than the loss of one of our crucial voices that once contributed to guidance and correction within our fragile nation.

You appeared to be an advisor with close access to President Hassan Sheikh. Among the earliest initiatives launched by the 2022 administration was the so-called “liberation of the country” project, which the president personally uu hoolifta ula baxay. To this day, we remain skeptical of its underlying intentions,(we have doubts about the hidden ajendas of that operation) and we have seen no tangible or meaningful outcomes from it. Given that you were part of the inner circle at Villa Somalia, we believe that we are entitled to ask you to clarify this matter for us.

We continue to support you, even though your political points has, from our perspective, declined significantly.

My Allah grants us guidance.

Bootaan Bootaan.

I agree with this analysis. Ambition without sequencing and consensus is especially risky in fragile states like Somalia. Legitimacy, institutional process, and negotiated politics are not obstacles to reform they are its foundation. This is a timely and necessary intervention.
