The reflections shared in this article speak directly to Somalia’s current struggle between a people rebuilding with resilience and a state apparatus that too often undermines those gains. While ordinary citizens invest their energy in dignity, community, and opportunity, the political class remains entangled in corruption, nepotism, and abuse of power.

Under the current administration of President Hassan Sheikh, this crisis has become especially visible. The manipulation of elections, the grabbing of public and private land, and the erosion of trust in public institutions have created deep wounds within society.

Instead of protecting the fragile renaissance of the Somali people, the state risks preying upon it weakening the very foundations of security and justice that a nation cannot do without.

Somalia deserves governance rooted in integrity, accountability, and fairness. A sustainable renaissance cannot be built on predatory politics; it requires a state that safeguards the sacrifices of its people rather than exploiting them.

The call of the moment is clear: Somalia’s future depends not only on the resilience of its citizens but also on the courage to demand a state that serves rather than consumes.
